Back to the NBA

Ever since SportsTicker folded in March 2009, I've pretty much been limited to writing baseball with occasional other stuff for the AP and Metro, but this year I will be returning to pro basketball for my paper at Net home games. Here's an example of a Nets story I've written about how Deron Williams is the face of the teamhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Of course, I've also written about the Yankee offseason from time to time and the baseball awards.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

In late November, I went to a school in Woodlawn in the Bronx to talk to Curtis Granderson.

A few weeks before Brian Cashman appeared at the Hard Rock Cafe to promote a coat drive. He also told us various things about the team and the offseason approach.

Tha was a week after he officially announced he was returning for the next three years

Of course the Yankees were hoping to basking in the glow of their second World Series championship in three years, but they fell nine wins shy because they couldn't get a big hit and that meant their season ended on Oct. 6
